Hi. I appreciate your Ybanag articles! I've been searching through the internet about articles in native tongues. Well, I once lived in Tuguegarao and this dialect has been familiar to my ears. I can't speak it straight but I understand almost everything, though. Should I have the opportunity to speak to a real Ybanag daily, then I may learn to speak out my thoughts in a short while.
ReplyDeleteIf God has to 'punish' or 'chastise' people through calamities, would you say everyone affected is guilty of a gross sin? In contrast, most victims of calamities (example, flood)are innocent ones, while those wicked or those people who caused calamities (e.g. illegal logging company owners) are living in the comforts of the 'life' they made for themselves. Most people affected in a disaster are those 'poor' people abused by 'rich' men living away from disaster prone areas. They have money to buy big houses and other things and spare themselves from effects of their own greed spirits. Would a loving God punish everyone because of wrongdoers? Would that be fair? I think a good father won't whip or strike all of his children if one or two made a mistake.
ReplyDeleteWell, kofun, we often attribute things happening in a society to its leader. We would say a town is peaceful and progressive because of the leaders. And in times of economic downfall or escalating crime incidents, we would still ascribe it to a weak leadership.
Most people think that God is the ruler of the world, which is why everything happening in the world, especially those heartbreaking events, are ascribed to Him. 1 John 5:19, though, is very clear in saying that the ruler of the world is not God but Satan - the wicked one. Satan is, thus, the one behind all these. It is not God who punishes.
God has appointed a time to eradicate Satan in this world, though. And the bible tells us that we're almost to it.
Oh, how lofty divine education over anything is!
Would be more than happy to share to everyone interested. :)
